-Full time

-The shift is 8am-8pm Thursday, Saturday, & Sunday

-Applicant must be registered in radiology through the ARRT

-Tennessee state license is preferred

-Experience is preferred, but not required

-Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: X-ray, Front Desk, Triage, EKG, Labs, Breath Alcohol Testing, and DOT Drug screens

-Must have good attitude, get along well with others, have a good bedside manner to deal with sick patients, and willing to take directions

-Knowledge of EMR DocuTAP, MS Word and Excel preferred

We started out as Doctors Express in 2010 here in Memphis and last year, we merged with American Family Care.

For a year now, we’ve been known as AFC/Doctors Express Memphis, providing urgent care in a walk-in clinic setting for ages 6 and older and in a family-friendly environment.

Here’s what is going to happen since we are changing to AFC Urgent Care: Nothing, really. Except the name change.

Some things really do stay the same and here’s what you’ll get from us as we begin the name change to AFC Urgent Care:

You’ll never need an appointment at AFC Urgent Care in Memphis. We operate on a first come, first served basis.

We also will continue offering occupational health services and treating work comp injuries. We will still be a DOT certified clinic for medical services needed to certify a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or to re-certify one and we will still be doing DOT-required BATs (Blood Alcohol Tests).

Patients Will Always See A Doctor At AFC Urgent Care

We’re still going to be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., 7 days a week.

We still will be accepting most insurance plans. If you have questions about insurance or need directions, please feel free to call us at 901-881-0331.

We’re still going to be located at 5475 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119, near the intersection of Poplar & Yates and just a block and a half west of the I-240 & Poplar Interchange.

7 Must Knows on Winter and Holiday Health and Safety

They are also a time to appreciate the gift of health. Here are some holiday tips to support your efforts for health and safety this season.

1. Keep your hands clean by washing them often.

Keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps you can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Wash your hands often with soap and clean running water, and rub them together for at least 20 seconds. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don’t have tissue, cough or sneeze into your upper sleeve or elbow, not your hands. Remember:

  • 1b. Handwashing: Clean Hands Save Lives

2. Stay warm.

Cold temperatures can cause serious health problems, especially in infants and older adults. Stay dry, and dress warmly in several layers. Remember:

3. Manage stress.

The holidays don’t need to take a toll on your health and pocketbook. Keep your commitments and spending in check. Balance work, home, and play. Get support from family and friends. Keep a relaxed and positive outlook. Make sure to get proper sleep. Remember:

  • 3a. Don’t overcommit – to parties, events, or volunteer work
  • 3b. Get enough sleep
  • 3c. Don’t overspend

4. Travel safely.

Whether you’re traveling across town or around the world, help ensure your trip is safe. Don’t drink and drive, and don’t let someone else drink and drive. Wear a seat belt every time you drive or ride in a motor vehicle. Always buckle your child in the car using a child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt appropriate for his/her height, weight, and age. Remember:

  • 4a. Don’t drink and drive

  • 4c. Wear your seatbelt all the time, even for short distances
  • 4d. Always buckle in the children
  • 4e. Use the right car safety restraint for your child’s age/height/weight

5. Be smoke-free.
